About Me
I grew up in Alaska, riding horses through the forests around Fairbanks and participating in Pony Club. I spent a few years horseless in college, but later rescued two young horses (Vermont and Africa). I also rejoined Pony Club as a young adult and earned my C3 Eventing and HA National Certifications.
I have started and trained several of my own horses and some for others. I especially enjoy foundational groundwork and pre-riding exposure training for young horses (trail rides, trailering, in hand show experiences).
I have competed in various disciplines including dressage, eventing, hunter/jumper, and most recently Working Equitation (www.usawe.org).
I have ridden under and learned from many great trainers and horsemen in multiple disciplines. I’m navigating horsemanship using tools and resources from all aspects of my background (“natural” horsemanship, eventing, Pony Club, dressage, Working Equitation, backcountry riding).
I try to practice a slower form of horsemanship from the ground to the saddle. Step by step and little by little, to build a solid partner for life.
